I'm sorry I guess I'm not familiar enough with all this to know what the main page is. I can't find anything that has photos with a padlock next to it! :) Would you mind copying and pasting the web address into a message for me so that I can get to it? I'm sorry to be such a bother about it! Also, I can't find the thread where others were talking about renting houses to stay in for graduation. We haven't made reservations yet. I'm getting nervous that we won't have anywhere to stay! Do you know a good place to contact for info for that?
I'm impressed with your handy work! I don't think I would be nearly as ambitious! Well my husband probably wouldn't let me tackle something of that magnitude! He knows me too well! :)

No bother at all I am blindly learning my way around this place too. I've had my 16 year old son showing me most of it. Here is the link to the main page, or at least that's what I call it http://parrisisland.yuku.com/. On this page if you will scroll down you will see "photos", that's what you click on then fill out the request. A few lines farther down there is another link Graduation tips for parents (i think thats what it's called) on that thread there are others who have talked about renting houses from a website and I think they pasted a link. There's only going to be 4 of us that are going to Jake's graduation so I'm just going to rent 2 rooms at a hotel in Buford for Wednesday the 9th and Thursday the 10th. I'm sure Jake will want to get home after graduation so we'll head home after that.

    Hey Jennie!
Hope you and your family had a wonderful 4th! I saw on an earlier post that you knew of a place to register to see pictures of our platoon. Can you give me instructions on how to do this? I've been on recruitparents.com and didn't see anything but maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. Any help or info you can give would be greatly appreciated!
    Talk to you soon,

On the main page of this site there is a thread that says photo's or pictures, it has a small padlock next to it. Click on it and fill out the fields. In the subject line I put "access to photos" then in the larger text box I put "my son is in Hotel Co. Platoon 2056. I'd like to have access to view the photos on-line".

Our 4th was ok. I spent the day at home alone while my husband and younger son went off shore diving and fishing. I spent the morning in my recruits room re-organizing and realized how "young" the decor looked. So, off to Lowes I went and bought paint and new blinds. I worked for about 12 hours yesterday pulling up the carpet for new laminate floors, I repainted a it very mature and masculine blue, and put up new plantation style blinds. I will have a carpenter out this week for the new floors. When he comes home he will have a new manly bedroom, it should be a nice surprise. Oh, and if I haven't mentioned Jake is in the reserves for the first 4 years while he attends college, then he's planning to go active duty to OCS. So, maybe the new room will entice him to stay home a little longer rather than rushing out to get his own place. I think an empty nest is one of my biggest fears.

Sorry I got long winded. Hope to hear back from you soon.

I would love to chat with you as well. Aaron will do well I'm sure but I know he's having a tough go. I can't even imagine what they are going through. My youngest son is Jake! He is 17, 18 next month and starting college on August 15. So then I'm an empty nester! Not too sure how I will handle it! So many changes with Aaron in the Marines, my daughter is getting married in October! Too much change for one mom to take!

Wow, all that and you're still sane? Dealing with one at PI, planning college for the youngest and I'm sure you're helping with the wedding arangements for your daughter. I commend you, I don't think I could handle that much at one time. I have a younger son who is 16 and will be a Junior this coming school year. He is a footbal fanatic and is starting Lacrosse this year so I stay busy during the seasons. He is planning to go in the Navy after high school. I don't think that their training is anything compared to what Jake and Aaron are dealing with. I was so glad Wednesday when I got the positive letter from Jake. He seemed much more motivated and up beat since he started receving mail. I have been writing him everyday so that first batch of mail that I sent out was probably overwhelming. I am assuming that I haven't gotten a letter from him in the last few days because he's been trying to catch up on what he's received so far.
It was nice to hear from you, feel free to message me back.
